As fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County know, this has been a difficult year for former cast member Lauri Peterson. Tragically, her son, Josh Waring, passed away earlier this year. Until very recently, the cause of his untimely passing was unknown despite there being speculations.

Lauri was a main cast member during the early seasons of RHOC. However, she was demoted later on and eventually left altogether. Lauri has been married to her third husband since 2007. She has kept a pretty low profile since leaving Housewives.
According to E! News, the autopsy results for Lauri’s son have been revealed. The 35-year-old’s death has been ruled accidental, and the report says that he died of a drug overdose.
There were three drugs found in his system: fentanyl, methamphetamine, and olanzapine. The latter of the three happens to be an antipsychotic medication.
Tragically, he passed away on Easter Sunday of this year. After learning of his death, Lauri took to Instagram to share the news. She started the emotional caption of the photo by saying, “It is with a shattered heart that I write this post to let you know that my sweet Josh left this earth Easter Sunday. No one can ever prepare you for this feeling of such deep loss.”
She also acknowledged his years-long battle with addiction in the post by saying, “I also thank those who have supported me through this journey and offered kind words of encouragement by sharing their stories of living with substance abuse disorder and the many parents that have shared their stories over the years with me about the children they have sadly lost due to this illness. Josh, I love you so much, and I will miss you terribly!”
Josh leaves behind a daughter, Kennady, who Lauri and her husband have custody of. Recently, Lauri shared a picture of Kennady on her first day of middle school.
