February was an eventful month for Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley.
After celebrating Valentine’s Day and their 16th anniversary, The Real Housewives of Orange County couple embarked on a lavish getaway to Las Vegas. Gretchen teased the weekend trip in a February 22 Instagram Story as she and Slade made their way to Sin City.
“Headed to Vegas! Woohoo!” Gretchen said. “We got our little baby girl [Skylar Gray] with the sitter. We’re gonna go have some fun… for 24 hours.”
Gretchen later confirmed she and Slade were in Las Vegas for Power of Love, an annual charity gala supporting the research and treatment of brain disorders. The star-studded event was hosted at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, where Gretchen and Slade had stayed.

The RHOC friend showed off her hotel suite shortly after landing in Las Vegas. And, let’s just say, she was very impressed by the ultra-luxe accommodations.
“OK, [here’s] our two-story house in Las Vegas,” she joked while filming the suite. “What the heck? What is happening? We gotta invite some people over, babe… Thank you [OneSeven Agency] and [MGM Grand Hotel & Casino] for our beautiful room!”
The couple stayed in the two-level Skyline Terrace Suite, which featured a Whirlpool spa tub, wet bar, a sleek dining room, and a 786-square-foot private terrace with jaw-dropping city views.
“Look at this deck! We should invite some friends,” Gretchen said while highlighting the furnished patio. “Holy smokes. This is insane right now. Oh my gosh. How fun is this? Wow…. Welcome to Las Vegas.”

The mother of one returned to the ’Gram shortly after to reveal her gorgeous dress options for the night. The first was a strapless gold/bronze gown with sequins throughout the bodice, while the second was a sleeveless light blue gown with silver sequins.
“I’m deciding what one to wear,” she said about the Hermz Boutique dresses. “I’m leaning toward [bronze/gold] because I just love these colors on me. But this one [blue/silver] is so beautiful with the blue-ish teal color, too, with the silver.”

Later that night, Gretchen returned to the bathroom to find Slade steaming both gowns. She immediately gushed over the unexpected gesture, saying she had no idea Slade had traveled with the steamer.
Babe, I love you. You literally brought our steamer!” she said. “Oh my god, you guys, he so knows me well enough…"
“Of course, I brought the steamer!” Slade interjected. “You’re always stressed out if it’s time to go and your dress is all wrinkled and all those things. It’s just, happy wife, happy life. The problem with this thing is it makes my glasses hot and then I can’t really see what I’m doing.”
“You are the sweetest ever,” Gretchen continued. “I didn’t even ask him. I was like, ‘What is that noise in the bathroom?’ Aww, honey, you’re the best hubby ever. He’s literally the best.”
“I’m taking care of my baby,” Slade added.”
Gretchen explains why she and Slade haven't tied the knot
Gretchen and Slade began dating in 2009 and got engaged in 2013, about six years before they welcomed their daughter. Gretchen addressed her years-long engagement on Scheana Shay’s Scheananigans podcast, explaining why she and Slade have taken so long to get married.
“Honestly, it’s really just been the timing of everything,” she said during the February 14 episode. “Life just got so busy. And then I started trying to have a baby. And that was so much money, just doing the whole IVF and all of that for four and a half years. And then after we had the baby, we were just busy being parents. And, you know, I’m not the kind of girl that’s like, ‘Let’s go down to the courthouse and get married.’ I want the wedding… I want to have more of the big hoopla.”
