The Real Housewives of Orange County reunion brought drama like never before when Emily Simpson exposed Katie Ginella’s heartbreaking custody situation. But it didn’t stop there—Heather Dubrow is now at the center of the storm after confirming she sent the article about Katie's custody battle to Emily, which led to the shocking reveal. So, what really went down?
In a recent Watch What Happens Live appearance, Andy Cohen grilled Gina Kirschenheiter about why she didn’t call out Emily for delving into Katie’s personal life. Gina immediately threw Heather under the bus, claiming it was Heather who dug up the info and gave it to Emily. In a comment shared by @commentsbybravo on Instagram, Heather didn’t hold back, reacting to Gina’s accusations with a statement that has fans talking.

"Let’s set the record straight," Heather wrote, clarifying that she does not engage in "researching" people, a claim many find hard to believe given her past behavior. "I don’t have time or interest to try to dig something up on other people," she continued. But then, she admitted something fans were quick to latch onto: she did indeed send the article about Katie’s custody battle to Emily before the reunion.
"For the reunion last year, there were a lot of stories in the media circling about Katie, and some of us were sending them to each other because it was overwhelming and crazy," Heather confessed. "I did in fact send the article about Katie’s custody to Emily."
But wait, it gets more complicated. Heather insists that she would never have brought it up at the reunion. "I went up to Katie during the commercial break and said to her… ‘This must’ve been a very difficult time for you. I’m sorry you had to go through that. I never would’ve brought this up,’" Heather continued, but still, the damage was done.
Fans immediately reacted to Heather’s admission, pointing out the contradiction. "If kids are 'off-limits,' why did she send the article to Emily?" one user wrote. Another fan questioned, "So… she did exactly what Gina said she did and then apologized for something she claimed she didn’t do?"
Heather’s attempt to distance herself from the drama has only fueled the fire, with one fan calling her a "classic sniper from the side." It's clear—Heather’s involvement in the custody drama is far from over, and the fans aren’t buying her excuses.
