If you’ve been watching Season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, then you’re extremely familiar with his lawsuit. After John and Shannon called it quits, he claimed she owed him $75,000 for money he loaned her for a facelift.
On RHOC, Shannon explained how she offered to pay him some of the money back, but John refused to sign a non-disparagement agreement. That hiccup prevented them from reaching a solution, and just last week, the two were requesting a jury trial. Something changed since then, and the two have finally reached a deal.
John Janssen and Shannon Beador’s lawsuit is settled
The update about Shannon’s facelift lawsuit arrived via People. In court documents filed on November 15, John stated that he and Shannon came to a settlement. Unfortunately, the details of the dollar amount were not disclosed.
In the court docs, John acknowledged that the dismissal of the case would be “unconditional.” He’ll need to have the lawsuit officially dismissed within 45 days.
This news may come as a surprise because, throughout RHOC Season 18, John and his new girlfriend, now fiancée, Alexis Bellino, insisted that Shannon knew she was supposed to pay back the money. They claimed they had “proof” of it.
“I didn’t want to take legal action, but my hands were tied as I was days away from crossing the statute of limitations of being able to do anything legally,” John claimed in a confessional on RHOC.
Meanwhile, Shannon argued that it was a gift from her then-boyfriend. The rest of the cast questioned Shannon’s judgment as she got dragged into the lawsuit. Now, she can finally put the drama behind her, and she can finally put John in the past for good. It’s one more step in the right direction.
The Real Housewives of Orange County is streaming on Peacock.
