Danielle Cabral spoke of her post-fight future with Jennifer Aydin and Teresa Giudice during an interview earlier this week, also sharing whether she thinks Teresa lied about not seeing her and Jen’s altercation.
While also admitting her one regret about the fight and reacting to Real Housewives of New Jersey viewers’ response, Danielle, 38, looked ahead to the series’ future and weighed in on Bravo’s decision to cancel the reunion following the taping of the drama-filled finale.
On the July 1 episode of Access Hollywood’s Housewives Nightcap, after Danielle was asked if she sees a path forward with Jen, 47, Danielle replied, “No, no, no, no, no, no…”
As for Teresa, 52, Danielle admitted they haven’t yet gotten a chance to sit down and rehash the happenings of season 14.
“After [the fight], the next day was not, ‘How ya doing?’ It was, ‘I feel bad for Jen,’ and that’s where I was kinda like … It’s really sad now that you think about it,” Danielle noted. “I was probably a better friend than they are to each other and they ruined that. I would’ve been there, I did right by them and they destroyed that.”
While there have been questions surrounding Teresa’s claim of having not seen Danielle and Jen’s altercation, Danielle came to her defense, saying that production, who watched the footage “a lot,” backed up Teresa’s statement.
“She happened to turn her head,” Danielle noted. “A lot of people had no idea what was happening. I didn’t even know. If you look at the footage after that happened, I’m like, ‘What just happened?’ I didn’t forget it. I remembered everything … But to see it and to be validated is good.”
Looking back, Danielle said that when it comes to her and Jen’s fight, she has just one regret.“I only regret letting someone that evil get to me because I should have, in that moment said, ‘Okay, you’re a loser.’ But I just couldn’t, man. And that’s nothing. Wait til you guys see the finale. It gets even dirtier and more evil than what she said to me,” Danielle teased.
Although it was certainly hard to relive, Danielle felt relief after the fight episode aired.
“I am wonderful. This has been the craziest and best week of my life. Like, imagine watching a movie and, like, the antihero finally gets the moment where you’re like, ‘Yeah!’ That’s been my week,” she explained. “That’s like the perfect example of, if you know what the truth is, you just have to hold it in and wait for the world to see it in a way. Me and my husband [Nate Cabral] were very conscious of keeping that in, and trust me, you have no idea how hard it was this past year keeping that in when there was a certain narrative online about me.”
“It was so hurtful. It took a toll. This year, my husband and I went through a lot, in our personal life, with our marriage, everything, because as strong as you wanna be, it’s okay to say, ‘Holy crap. This affects me as a human,’” she continued. “But man, the response I’ve been getting has been, the only way that I can describe it is like, beautiful. It’s been really wonderful. It really has been.”
Because Jen was first to get physical with her, pushing her before Danielle responded by hitting her with a cup, some have called for Jen to be fired.
“I could care less. If she comes back, she’ll make my job super easy but I don’t care either way, ” Danielle shared after being asked about Jen’s potential axing. “I’m all about just put the camera up. Film my life. That’s the difference. I don’t plan or mastermind to come into the season with anything … Whatever they wanna do, let ’em do but I think she’s brought so many bad things to this show. It’s very hard to go into a work environment with somebody who — you can’t fight with evil. Because you’re not fighting with someone that’s talking about something that’s actually happened in your life. They’re making up things to try and destroy you.”
While Danielle doesn’t care whether or not Jen returns, she suspected that there would be some sort of reboot.
“I don’t think whole cast will come back only because it didn’t just go on, other things have happened where it’s very, it’s past the point of no return, and it goes beyond the [Melissa Gorga] and Teresa thing,” she stated. “Other things have happened where it’s like… at the end of the day, we work together. This is a working environment, so we all have to kind of be on the same page. It doesn’t mean we’re not gonna come at each other, but let’s not try to kill…”
Also during the interview, Danielle said Bravo “made the right call” to cancel the reunion.
“The reunion would’ve been a screaming match of what’s going on today and really not on what happened when we were filming. That was a long time ago. A lot of stuff has happened,” she pointed out. “I do think the fans are going to love what they decided to do instead. And I happen to love it a lot better too. I also think they’re gonna love the finale.”
