It’s been a minute since Heather Thomson “HOLLA!-ed” her way through Seasons 5-7 of The Real Housewives of New York. However, she’s remaining loyal to her former boss, Andy Cohen.
Andy and RHONY alum Leah McSweeney have been embroiled in a lawsuit. Leah filed the suit against Andy, Bravo, and Shed Media earlier this year. She claims that even though she was struggling with her sobriety, showrunners pressured her to drink to amp up drama during filming. She also alleged that Andy would partake in cocaine with some Real Housewives. He vehemently denies all of her accusations and has asked for the suit to be dismissed.
In a recent interview, Heather expressed that she had never experienced anything that Leah accused Andy of.
Leah appeared at a hearing just last week, marking the first time her suit saw the courtroom. Heather recently spoke with Daily Mail.
Though Heather isn’t surprised how things are going down, she shared that she is “saddened.”
She explained, “I’m very saddened by the turn of events. It wasn’t my experience on the show ever to be pushed. I was never pushed, ever.”
Leah’s last season on RHONY – Season 13 – was also the end of RHONY as we knew it before the current reboot. Heather said of the downfall, “The way that whole thing ended was the writing was on the wall a little bit, I think.”
Heather is squarely Bravo Andy. She declared, “Yes, I support Andy in this. Definitely.”
Heather appeared as a friend-of in Season 13. She believes she was supposed to function as a “bridge” between the OG cast members and younger ones.
She revealed, “Well, I think they brought me back because how they described it to me was to bridge the difference between the younger, new housewives and the OGs. I made sense.”
Though, she admits it didn’t really work. “Production felt that I would actually maybe talk to Eboni [K. Williams] or hang out with her or Leah more than Luann [de Lesseps] or one of the other girls would. But I was not a good bridge.”
Since Heather was there during some of Leah’s time, she’s even willing to ride for Andy if she and other castmates were called to.
“I doubt [the cast would be scared]. I doubt it; I mean, I wouldn’t be. You know, you tell the truth. Tell the truth. Tell what you really saw. I didn’t see… They were not holding her back,” she added.
Heather, who’s pivoted to the health and wellness space after her time on the show (and since her past life working closely alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs – yikes), joins a long list of Housewives who’ve defended Andy. Others include Luann, Kyle Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, Vicki Gunvalson, and several more.
