Is it time for Sonja Morgan to take a break from dining out? Last week, she made headlines for trying to skip out on a $1,000 bill. She blamed it on a “clear miscommunication” between her and the owner.
This weekend, Sonja found herself in another bizarre situation. The Real Housewives of New York alum was taken out of a Florida restaurant this weekend in an ambulance. Was this another “miscommunication” or is something going on with Sonjarita?
Sonja Morgan says ambulance was originally for “elderly patron”
TMZ obtained the footage of Sonja outside of a restaurant, where she’s seen going back and forth with police officers in Palm Beach, Florida. As a reminder, she recently relocated to the southern hotspot, along with a handful of other RHONY alums. The fact that Andy Cohen isn’t down there with a camera is a missed opportunity.
Either way, the video shows Sonja in distress right before getting carted off to the hospital. The weirdest part about it all? Sources told the outlet that she’s the one who initially called for the ambulance for someone else! It’s all very odd, but of course, Sonja had a logical explanation for what happened.
“An elderly patron at the restaurant I was dining at appeared to be in distress, and I called for medical assistance,” Sonja explained in a statement. “While assisting during the commotion, I sustained some minor injuries and, out of an abundance of caution, accompanied the EMTs to be checked out.”
Supposedly, Sonja also received a trespass warning from police that night. She refused to sign it, noting that she didn’t want to leave the restaurant without confirming that the elderly person was safe.
“I didn’t want to leave,” Sonja explained. “I insisted on making sure she was cared for.”
