An upcoming podcast episode about the rise of the popular spin class SoulCycle spills some tea on a Bravolebrity. Apparently, an unnamed Real Housewives of New York alum was once banned from the franchise for bad behavior.
Cult of Body & Soul podcast host Jess Rothschild spoke with a past SoulCycle employee. “There was a former [RHONY] Housewife that was banned from [SoulCycle’s East 63rd Street location],” alleges the former instructor. “She was talking so loudly throughout the entire class.”
Without revealing when the incident occurred, the teacher adds, “She was making out with her boyfriend in the front row … [They were] doing a whole bunch of things up there.”
Which RHONY star was “banned” from SoulCycle?
“When the studio manager came up to them afterwards,” added the source, “they were like, ‘Just to really establish the rules … if you’re in the front row, we really want you following along with the class. We try not to have people talking.’”
However, the former Housewife didn’t take the correction well. According to the insider, she started “grilling the manager, ripping into her. Pulls the whole ‘Do you know who I am?’ situation … The manager ended up calling corporate, and that woman ended up being banned.”
Prior to this incident, SoulCycle has been featured on RHONY before. In a 2012 episode, Aviva Drescher hosted a fundraiser event at the spin studio, despite her ex-husband’s claim that she “never did any philanthropy.”
More recently, Captain Sandy Yawn of Below Deck Mediterranean suffered a heart attack while working out in a SoulCycle spin class. Fortunately, Sandy recognized the signs and called an Uber to take her to the hospital. Since then she has fully recovered and continues to captain luxury yachts in the Med.
