Former J. Crew president and creative director Jenna Lyons has revealed why designers aren't dying to dress her for her appearances on The Real Housewives of New York - and her answer may surprise you.
Lyons, 56, shared during a recent interview with People that there are a few reasons why designers are no longer pining for her.
'I think a lot of times, designers want to dress you head to toe, and I don't really wear anything head to toe, so I'm not usually the perfect person for that,' Lyons told the outlet.
'I'm also like, not 22 and hot anymore,' she continued. 'Like that moment has passed.'
The fashion icon joined the hit Bravo show as a full-time cast member last year for its 14th season, which was a total reboot from its original lineup.
Instead of featuring stars like Ramona Singer and Luann de Lesseps, they cast a new crowd with Lyons and others, like influencer Sai de Silva and New York-native real estate agent Erin Dana Lichy.
Lyons quickly became a fan-favorite among viewers, not only for her level-headed attitude but also for her chic style and fabulous clothing.
She even gave viewers a peek into her giant, walk-in closet last season, which was stuffed with tons of her famous pieces from the archives.
To top it all off, the star famously wore jeans to the season 14 reunion, which garnered plenty of buzz from the Bravo community, as typically, many of the 'wives go in head-to-toe glam.
But Lyons, who is the founder of lash company LoveSeen, stands by her fashion choices, even if they're not exactly going to be trending twenty years from now.
'My favorite thing is looking through old photographs and I'm like, "Wow, I thought that was cute,"' Lyons explained recently to People.
'But if you don't take any risks, you don't take any rewards. I don't know. I think fashion risks are fun... I feel like people get so worried about rules,' she added.
The RHONY star also admitted that she wants people to have a little bit more fun with their style these days.
'I also think everyone's so judgmental. It's like, "I'm sorry. Can we please just have a little fun?"' Lyons told the outlet.
Since last season aired, Lyons has been busy in the fashion world, and even hosted a stoop sale to share some of the relics from her closet.
One lucky buyer, Janna Hagey, even found a handful of Lyons's old belongings - including a J. Crew corporate ID card, in the Balenciaga City bag she purchased from the star.
