The Real Housewives of Potomac will soon close out its season with a reunion that has been teased as being pretty epic. Ashley Darby has been front and center with the drama despite not having the most active season on the show.
Now, the RHOP OG has a bit of forward momentum as her divorce from Michael Darby is finally finalized. This comes ahead of her upcoming dating show, which is slated to air on Bravo.
Fans will recall that Ashley and Michael first separated in April 2022. However, as she has said, Ashley didn’t feel ready to file for divorce for quite some time. The estranged couple didn’t take the legal leap until November of last year. They share two young sons and tied the knot in 2014.
According to TMZ, the divorce finally got the stamp of approval on February 10. This comes after Ashley previously said she hoped it would be finalized this month in a recent interview. As fans know, her separation and impending divorce were focal points of her storylines for the last few seasons. This is so much the case that many viewers felt she didn’t have much to offer the show beyond her marital issues and impeccable skill of stirring the pot.
Regarding why they separated, Ashley said in April 2022 that they were simply in “very different stages in our lives.” In addition to this, there were widespread rumors of alleged infidelity on Michael’s part, which some of her castmates mentioned on the show.
Michael recently spoke to TMZ about their agreed settlement and how they’ll handle custody of the boys. In a nutshell, he called it “amicable and fair” and stated that he and Ashley would share custody. Ashley has also said that their agreement dictates how much she can publically speak about him, but that he is also understanding of the fact that she has a life in the limelight.
