“The Real Housewives of Potomac” star Katie Rost has revealed that she recently got married. Rost took to X on July 26 to post a pic of her and her new husband accompanied by a candid message.
“I got married on July 10th to the love of my life,” she wrote. “Prior to our marriage I had a slight manic episode, it’s been handled and he encouraged me to get help and also stay off social media. So I committed to that but now I’m back! HEALTHY, HAPPY, MARRIED to a good man.”
In the comments, the reality star shared a bit more information about her man, explaining, “Our fathers were best friends. He has known me since I was born. And I trust him to keep me safe and healthy.”
Someone commented on the post, “Is that your dad?” and Rost’s response was good-natured. “Haha! He always loved my father, so I must say, they have similarities, which is the highest compliment to me.”
Rost’s Recent Struggles
Although Rost was casual in sharing that she’d recently experienced a manic episode, she went into further detail in the comments of her post. In response to a fan who said they were happy she was feeling better, the former model gave some insight into what happened.
“… the truth is, when you are having a manic episode, you truly can’t see it,” Rost wrote. “He had to tell me and help me make the right decision to get help. And I did.” She added, “I take it seriously.”
In another post written on July 26 Rost expressed her gratitude for making it through a tough time. “Thanks for all the sweet messages and forgiveness for the dark places I went in my manic period,” she wrote. “I want to thank my LORD and SAVIOR, who never lets us down,” she continued.
Rost, whose Instagram account has been deactivated for some time, hinted that she’ll likely steer clear of social media again since making her wedding announcement. “Signing off for a while,” she concluded the post, and included her new full married name, “Kathryn Renee Rost HERMANSEN.”
Rost Celebrated Her Sobriety in March
On March 17, Rost shared via her now-deleted Instagram that she had been sober for 4 months. “Grabbing my N.A. tag and my AA chip this week to celebrate 4 months CLEAN and SOBER,” she captioned a smiling selfie.
In December of 2024, Rost shared that she had completed rehab at Mountain Manor Treatment Center in Baltimore. She also revealed that her next step was moving into a sober living house to continue her wellness journey.“I’m soooooo proud of myself. I didn’t walk into this on a winning streak,” Rost wrote. “But today I have such a sense of victory!”
