Ashley Darby offered an update on her imprisoned co-star, Karen Huger, on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday.
As she also addressed the controversy surrounding a recent video of herself singing on a morning show, spoke of her Love Island suitors, and reacted to Mia Thornton‘s move from Potomac to Atlanta, the 36-year-old Real Housewives of Potomac star made a racy statement about ex-husband Michael Darby, 64, and revealed details about Karen’s 62nd birthday.
“I haven’t talked to her directly, but from what I understand, she’s doing okay,” Ashley confirmed on the May 18 episode of WWHL. “Her birthday was recent, and she had some visits from her family, so she was very happy with that. But she’s doing okay. Apparently, she’s running the roost in there in a very Karen way.”
Amid a game of “Shag, Marry, Kill,” Ashley was given a lineup of Robyn Dixon, 46, Candiace Dillard Bassett, 38, and Stacey Rusch, 43, and she chose to marry Robyn and “bang” Stacey.
“I’m gonna have to let Candiace go because I haven’t talked to her in a long time,” she explained.
Then given a lineup of her Love Island co-stars, Luann de Lesseps, 60, Shannon Beador, 61, and Gizelle Bryant, 54, Ashley said that while she wouldn’t take out any of them, she’d marry Gizelle and shag Luann.
“I can tell she’s wild in the bed and she gave me good tips,” Ashley revealed.
As for Jamal Bryant, 53, Anthony Thomas “TJ” Jones, and Gordon Thornton, 73, Ashley said she take out Gordon, be TJ’s BFF, and marry Jamal.
“He’s a man for the people. I know it’s a little weird with Gizelle. Friends share sometimes,” she reasoned.
During the same game, when co-guest Kelli Ferrell, 40, was given Michael as an option, Ashley declared, “Michael’s packing!”
Looking back at her cover of Roberta Flack‘s “Killing Me Softly” on Good Day DC, Ashley seemed to blame technical issues for the pitchy performance and teased that we “may or may not be seeing [her] in a show soon.”
“There was a lot that went on in studio, but I redeemed myself at my show. It was phenomenal … I did it justice,” she noted.
Moving on to her time at the Love Hotel, which she admitted Michael wasn’t “the biggest fan” of, Ashley said she was surprised by how impacted she was by Wale’s reaction to her kiss with Ralph.
“That was a little difficult for me,” she shared. “Going into the Love Hotel, I knew that I had to really look after myself first. I didn’t really expect to care about somebody as much as I did Wale, but, you know, I never knew when [Joel Kim Booster] was gonna be like, ‘Elimination time!’ … whatever he was gonna spring on me, so I had to act quick.”
Comparing her two main suitors, Ashley praised Wale for being a better kisser and having better style, and she revealed that he and Ralph were equally trustworthy and gentlemanly.
As for whether Wale was too intense, she added, “It was a lot … And also, he doesn’t have any kids. That’s a big thing.”
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, Ashley was asked if she was surprised by the news of Mia’s move to Atlanta, and she was questioned about whether Kelli should be friends with her.
“Number one, no surprise. I think half of Mia’s heart has been in Atlanta for a long time, as much as she tried to deny that. I would say, Kelli, keep your good eye on Mia. She can be a good friend, but she can also be a shady b*tch,” Ashley warned.
Love Hotel season one airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
