The Real Housewives of Potomac star Mia Thornton has found a way to establish some healthy boundaries between her estranged husband, Gordon Thornton, and her new boyfriend, Inc.
“They haven’t seen each other,” Mia, 39, exclusively shared with Us Weekly while promoting the Bravo series on Wednesday, October 30. “I actually just revoked his access to my floor [when Inc is in town] so Gordon can’t come to my floor. That’s been a really great boundary because now I take the back service elevator, so I never run into him. We don’t see him.”
Mia added that it’s also helpful that her boyfriend likes to visit when Gordon, 72, is out of town.
“We’re doing a better job of just kind of being mindful of his feelings, which I don’t know how long I’m going to be doing that,” Mia shared. “But for now, that’s what’s working.”
In September 2023, Mia and Gordon announced their breakup after 11 years of marriage. They share son Jeremiah Carter, 9, and daughter Juliana, 7. Both Mia and Gordon also have one child from previous relationships.
When kicking off 2024, Mia went Instagram Official with radio DJ, Inc (also known as Incognito). While the pair met in high school and dated for more than three years, they eventually went their separate ways before recently reconnecting.
As Mia continues to document her personal life on season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac, she’s happy to report that things between her and Gordon have improved post-split.
“We are actually doing a really good job. The kids are happy,” she told Us. “Gordon is still very much in my building. I’m OK with it as long as there’s no negativity around it. I don’t like negative things. I’m a peace girl. I really do like peace. And as long as you’re coming with good energy, then you are always welcome in my corner suite. But the moment that it’s anything different and you try to control what’s going on in my corner suite, you have got to get out.”

Mia gave her estranged husband credit for “respecting my boundaries,” but also finds it beneficial that he is dating someone new.
“I think he’s now distracted and he has his attention on someone else, which is great,” she said. “It works out well. The kids love her. I do [like her]. I think that she’s a good addition to our family. She’s a good team member. Hopefully she’ll stick around for a while.”
