"Winegate" broke out between Angie Katsanevas and Britani Bateman on Season 5, Episode 10 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and now, the pair and their fellow castmates are sharing new insight into the drama on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show.

In case you missed it, the disagreement began after Angie brought a bottle of wine to a (Mormon!) event at Britani's (Mormon!) household on Episode 7. And Mormons typically don't drink.

As Heather Gay explained to Meredith Marks, "It's like me showing up to your bat mitzvah with a giant ham and some bacon in a paper towel and saying 'mazel!'"

On the other hand, "How would Angie know that wine was inappropriate for Britani's version of Mormonism, because Britani does drink?" Heather continued. "And so, to suddenly take an opportunity publicly to shame Angie and say that Angie was inappropriate, when all Angie did was respond in kind to the version of Britani that she's presented to our friend group, I think, was totally out of line."

Whitney Rose was more sympathetic to Britani, telling Bronwyn Newport on the After Show, "The wine alone is not only hypocritical, it's laughable, but at the same time, I understand that culture that [Britani's] living in in Utah County."

"It's just fascinating because she is literally drinking wine with us constantly," Whitney added. "So for Angie to take over a housewarming gift that's wine makes perfect sense. But I also understand the lens through which Britani is living her life."

Bronwyn said that she also understands Britani's desire to hide that part of her life from people, as she still goes to church and is involved in the Mormon church. Still, "Angie bringing her a bottle of wine was not [Britani] co-signing that she drinks wine. She could've just said, 'Oh, thank you so much' and put it to the side and kept it moving," Bronwyn explained. "The more she talks about it, the more she draws attention to the fact that she is drinking and not telling people and is a huge hypocrite."

Lisa Barlow, meanwhile, sided with Britani and argued that there's a certain etiquette when you grow up in Utah. "You would never go to a family home evening and bring liquor. Even if you drink it. Like, I own it. I would never bring that to another. Even if I knew they drink it I would never bring it to a religious event," the Vida Tequila owner said.

Why did Angie K. buy Britani a bottle of wine?

Angie explained her decision on the RHOSLC After Show: "The two times I've been around Britani, she's drinking. She loves her wine. So I thought, well, I've never been to her house. I brought a gift bag of hair products from the salon and a bottle of wine."

Where do Angie Katsanevas and Britani Bateman stand after Winegate?

"Winegate" was taken to another level when Angie made a remark about Britani's love life. "At that point, I didn't want to acknowledge her because she was picking at a scab that I didn't want picked at," Britani said on the RHOSLC After Show. "If you go to church every week, it's assumed that you're adhering to these certain standards. And having a sexual relationship with anyone is so beyond unacceptable. And Angie just picked at that scab."
