RHOSLC Star Bronwyn Newport’s Most Iconic Looks, From the Runway to Reality TV
In the Bravo Housewives Hall of Fame for fashion, Bronwyn Newport deserves her own wing. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season five newcomer has brought color and pizazz to screens, not just through her personality but via her bold sense of style.
Newport is a fashion historian and archivist, advocate, and multi-hyphenate who's also not one to shy away from confrontation or a maximalist pattern. Her singular approach to style has cemented her place as one of the most popular additions to the Bravo universe in years. The front-row fixture isn’t just a clotheshorse, either. She’s a bona fide supporter of designers. Just ask Christian Siriano, who famously shouted her out on Watch What Happens Live for being a genuine long-standing VIC (very important client.)
From her favorite blinged-out Judith Lieber handbags to vintage haute couture and luxury ready-to-wear, Newport delved into her closet’s MVPs with InStyle. See ahead for some of our favorite looks the Bravo star has worn throughout the years.
Met Gala After Party in Alexander McQueen

When planning her look for a Met Gala after-party, Newport looked to classic suiting for a jumping-off point. “I wanted to focus on tailoring and dandyism. Naturally, my mind immediately went to McQueen, as the brand and Lee are both known for tailoring. Dandyism includes the use of color, texture, and refined silhouettes, all of which could be found in this outfit.” To go with her burgundy ensemble, she chose sleek Melissa Kaye dagger earrings. The look also made for a departure from her usual stepping-out moments. “I felt like it was a change from my usual over-the-top aesthetic,” she laughs. “I realized how comfortable pants and no unwieldy shapes can be for a long night!
Save Venice gala in Oscar de la Renta

As a guest of the house of Oscar de la Renta, Newport served up gilded glamour at this year’s benefit. “The theme of the evening was ‘Banquet of Cleopatra’ and you can see I ran with that theme,” she says. “I studied Cleopatra and her most famous portrayal by Elizabeth Taylor, but I also wanted to keep it chic and fashionable. Couture…not costume!” The result was a regal Venetian-inspired gown that would make the Queen of the Nile proud. Gianvito Rossi stilettos and freshly chopped bangs added the perfect finishing touch.

When the moment came to introduce herself to audiences, Newport wanted to work with what was in her own closet. “I did buy a few pieces here and there, but I knew one surefire way to be myself on camera was to utilize what I already had.” Enter: the unforgettable red heart-shaped coat from Hedi Slimane’s Fall Winter 2016 collection for Saint Laurent. “My first challenge [on the show] was the Valentine's Day bisous-themed party. I opted for a Khaite dress with kisses all over it, little heart heels by Alaïa, a Dolce & Gabbana purse, and then the big coat.” Newport admitted she’s “never one to miss a moment to be on theme” and doesn’t regret this talked-about outfit for a second. “While there were jokes about this look, I don't regret it one bit! I love this coat from the Saint Laurent show and have worn it often over the almost ten years I have had it. It was a fitting way to enter the show...I think I have a big heart but come for my fashions and you better pack that bread in your purse and run!”
NYFW in Brandon Maxwell

A major Brandon Maxwell fan, Newport recalls that a highlight of 2023 was attending the designer’s runway show during New York Fashion Week. “I have a deep archive of Brandon Maxwell's pieces, so I would never deign to show up in a borrowed piece, an unworn brand new piece, or, gasp, another designer's look,” Newport gasps. Instead, she arrived in a memorable ombré pailette skirt and pink sweater from his Resort 2023 show. “This skirt is truly a masterpiece and heavy! It also makes the most delish swish as you walk! Full Ms. Frizzle fantasy,” she says. “I think one of my favorite things about fashion is the unique perspective and construction a piece can have and this skirt is so emblematic of that. I tend to like to be more covered but always wild and out there, but this look feels effortless.”

Newport’s summary of this serve? “A rose—that absolutely comes with thorns!” For her first RHOSLC cast reunion, she wanted to make a power play in red. “How do you top a first season of over the top looks and arguments? By unpacking those arguments in a final over the top look! I was blown away by this dress. It was created for Karlie Kloss at the Met Gala in 2021. It symbolized the red rose, the flower of America.” Newport fell in love with the dress and purchased it from the Herrera archive as soon as she saw it. On the night, she teamed it with Valentino shoes and jewelry by Melissa Kaye. In her own words? “It was perfect.”

“It’s a pink cotton candy dream,” Newport muses of this ballet slipper pink textural number she wore to Christian Siriano’s New York Fashion Week show. “Christian is one of my favorite people and designers. I wanted to show up and out for his runway show, and this look hit it out of the park. It’s the most ‘Bronwyn’ I’ve ever felt during fashion week: a sparkly Judith Lieber hot dog in one hand and wearing a pink, poufy, foam, fun Barbie confection.”
LOVELOUD gala in Christopher John Rogers

At the LOVELOUD gala in Dallas, Newport wowed in a Christoper John Rogers corset and skirt in the designer’s signature strawberry-waist silhouette. “Christopher is known for pattern, color, and texture—my three favorite things in fashion,” she says. “You've seen me in this dress at events and in my confessionals…trying to literally connect the dots of my friendships while in dots!”
Paris Fashion Week in Valentino

While attending Alessandro Michele’s debut Haute Couture show for Valentino, Newport went all in. Or as she puts it: “Gold everything for what I knew would be a gold medal of a show!” The star picked a dress, headband, and shoes from Michele’s inaugural ready-to-wear show for the house. “I felt sparkly and so ladylike,” she says, “ I usually veer towards more quirky pieces rather than polished. I loved presenting as ladylike and, dare I say, even demure?! The croque monsieur purse by Judith Lieber completed the look. It ate!”

For her appearance on WWHL alongside Julia Fox, Newport says she felt the urge to “go a little foxy” herself. “This dress made me feel the sexiest I’ve ever felt. It was all so rawr. And if that isn't the point of fashion: trying new things, cloaking yourself in a new facade every once in a while, then what is?” Newport styled the slinky leopard print number by Turkish brand The New Arrivals: Ilkyaz Ozel with vintage Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

For designer Brandon Maxwell’s show earlier this year, Newport didn’t let the weather rain on her parade. “I love a runway show, and the exciting moment when you get to see an upcoming season of creations. Despite the rainy weather in NYC in February, I wanted to be as fresh and clean as the slate upon which the designers would be showing their hard work. This dress felt simultaneously a bit cheeky and very serious!” Newport complimented her pristine cream dress and wrap with a multi-colored necklace by Lizzie Fortunato and shoes by Paris Texas.

A star is born! For her first-ever press moment, Newport opted for a boxy blazer and matching capris in a look-at-me shade of magenta, paired with sky-high Versace platforms. “It’s a little bit business, a little bit party,” she summarizes with a smile.

Newport’s outfit for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2025 was one of her favorites of all-time. “I have loved red carpet commentary and awards shows since I was a little girl and getting to co-host the SAG Awards red carpet was a lifelong dream come true,” she says. For such a momentous career high, it was only fitting that Newport went bigger than ever before. The perfect dress came in the form of a Dior Haute Couture gown from 1968, originally made for Mexican screen icon, Maria Felix. “I couldn't be commenting on the looks of the stars if I wasn't in a look from a star myself,” she laughs. “I love the color, the history and the feather trim. I made it my own with a sparkly pair of platforms for both pop and comfort, and one of my signature Judith Leiber handbags.
