RHOSLC’s Bronwyn Newport Mourns ‘Wonderful’ Father After His Sudden Death

Bronwyn Newport grabbed a snowflake for Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The feisty fashionista was outspoken, detailing issues with infidelity in her marriage. Plus, she feuded with former friend Lisa Barlow. Sadly, Bronwyn recently shared the news that her beloved father has passed away.

Bronwyn Newport’s father had a fall at a memory care facility

Bronwyn posted about her father’s death on her Instagram Story. “Earlier today, we lost my wonderful father, David Richard Newport.” Her words were written over a black-and-white photograph of her dad.

Previously, the RHOSLC star had shared that her father was battling Alzheimer’s disease. He was living in a memory care facility, and on June 10, he suffered a fall. Unfortunately, his health went downhill following the incident.

Bronwyn continued, “Yesterday, we were told he most likely only had a few days. It has been a huge shock to lose someone seemingly so suddenly that yet we’ve been caretaking through such a long illness.” Then Bronwyn revealed how thankful she felt to be able to be with her father.

“I am so grateful to have been able to be by his bedside all week and in his final moments to help both him and my mom. I’m grateful we had some idea what was happening toward the end so much of our family could gather to be with him,” Bronwyn wrote. While she is navigating “this profound loss,” Bronwyn noted that her mother asked her to share the sad news. As of now, there is no further information about memorial or funeral plans for David.

The RHOSLC star also recently weathered a health scare with her mom, who had emergency brain surgery in 2024 for a tumor in her skull. And, sadly, in February 2025, Bronwyn’s dog, Claire, passed away. That is a lot of grief to handle.

Meanwhile, we will have to see how Bronwyn navigates her feud with Lisa and the rumors about her marriage to Todd Bradley in Season 6 of RHOSLC.
