The AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks is in trouble. After winning their first four Calder Cup Playoff games, the Rockford IceHogs have now lost two straight to the Milwaukee Admirals.
The first two wins of the series for Rockford came in Milwaukee before they lost both at home. Now, there will be a decisive game five back in Milwaukee on Sunday.
In Friday night’s game four, it was a step in the right direction after being blown out in game three, but it was still a one-goal loss nonetheless. Jackson Cates and Aidan Thompson were the goal scorers for Rockford in defeat.
What will it take for the IceHogs to overcome this playoff adversity? Well, as always, it will take everyone.
This team is loaded with young, talented players who have future NHL hopes, but there is also a nice touch of veteran presence there as well. If both groups pull together and play their best game, they can get it done.
The game on Sunday, as mentioned before, will be in Milwaukee at 4 PM CT. The winner will move on to face the Texas Stars in the Central Division Championship round of the Calder Cup Playoffs.
