We just received an interesting statement regarding young players Joshua Roy and Logan Mailloux from the Montreal Canadiens.
Towards the end of the most recent episode of his podcast, Stanley25, Maxime Truman made a very intriguing statement about a possible major trade coming for the Habs.
'Keep an eye on Logan Mailloux and Joshua Roy this week. [...] I'm not telling you they're leaving this week, but they are guys who 'could' be moved this week, before the trade deadline.'- Maxime Truman
That is quite intriguing, especially since the deadline is now roughly 48 short hours away.
Kent Hughes could trade Logan Mailloux and Joshua Roy this week
It appears to be a real possibility, potentially to acquire a Dylan Cozens, a Casey Mittelstadt, or a Trevor Zegras.
In any case, I don't see what other type of reinforcement Kent Hughes would trade Roy and Mailloux for. We know that the Montreal Canadiens are currently looking to make a hockey deal.
So this would certainly align with that goal.
We highly recommend checking out their full episode for more insights and similar statements.
Joshua Roy, 21 years old, has 32 points in 43 games this season with the Laval Rocket, as well as 0 points in four games with the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL.
Logan Mailloux, also 21 years old, has 27 points in 44 games this season with the Laval Rocket, along with four points in seven games with the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL.
Do you think it would be a mistake for Kent Hughes to trade these two young players?
It seems like the organization is no longer entirely sure whether these two can be part of the long-term solution, and all signs point to Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton being ready to use them in a trade to acquire an impact player who is still relatively young.
