Ryan Ramczyk and 2 Saints whose time in New Orleans is coming to an end

As the 2024 season nears an end, the New Orleans Saints have a few players that won’t be on the roster after this season.

The New Orleans Saints have six games left, and with how this season has gone so far, the expectations is that this offseason will be the start of a new era for the Saints. New Orleans will have a coaching search after firing Dennis Allen, and while Mickey Loomis is adamant the team won’t rebuild, all signs point to the Saints starting over.

That means next season’s roster could look much different than the current roster. While some veterans will remain on the team, New Orleans will move on from others. That means several players are entering their final weeks as Saints players. Let’s take a look at three players in that category.

Ryan Ramczyk’s time with the Saints is coming to an end

Ryan Ramczyk hasn’t played a snap this season, and it’s likely he played his final season with the Saints and in the NFL. The three-time All-Pro lineman was placed on injured reserve at the beginning of the year because of a knee issue that the team feared could end his career.

The team or Ramczyk hasn’t made any announcements about his future, but there’s a growing belief he’s done playing. With Taliese Fuaga and Trevor Penning emerging at the tackle spots this season, the team is seemingly prepared to move on.

Jamaal Williams’ time in New Orleans is coming to an end

Jamaal Williams signed with the Saints a year after his first 1000-yard rushing season— the same year he led the league with 17 rushing touchdowns. When he agreed to his three-year deal, many thought he’d create a nice backfield combo with Alvin Kamara. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.

In his first season in New Orleans, he rushed for 306 yards and one touchdown. This season, while battling injuries, Williams has only ran for 124 yards and a touchdown. He hasn’t been much of a contributor for the Saints, and although he has one year remaining on his deal, he probably won’t return.

John Ridgeway III’s time with the Saints is coming to an end

The New Orleans Saints traded for defensive tackle John Ridgeway III at the beginning of the season, but he hasn't done much for the team this year. Appearing in eight games, Ridgeway has just 10 tackles on the season. While he only has a season remaining on his contract after this year, it’s likely New Orleans will let him go this offseason. Luckily, the Saints did get the pick they used to trade for him back, when they traded away Marshon Lattimore.
