Sabres Have 2 Star Trade Targets from Ducks

The Sabres could boost their forward group by adding one of these Ducks forwards.

The Buffalo Sabres have had a busy offseason, but GM Kevyn Adams can't be done yet. When looking at the Sabres' roster, it is apparent that they still need another top-six winger if they hope to be a more significant threat in 2024-25.

The Anaheim Ducks stand out big time when looking at potential trade partners for the Sabres. The rebuilding squad has two stars creating plenty of chatter in the rumor mill who would be huge additions to the Sabres' roster. Let's discuss them now.

Trevor Zegras

Trevor Zegras is one of the top trade candidates of the summer, and he is precisely the kind of player the Sabres should target. He would be a massive addition to the Sabres' top line and could create some real magic setting up sniper Tage Thompson. In addition, Zegras would give the Sabres a young star who could be a potential long-term part of their core.

The Sabres have the prospect pool to make a real push for Zegras, and it is something they should seriously consider. Adding him would make their top six look far more dangerous on paper.

Frank Vatrano

While Zegras would be an outstanding addition to the Sabres' roster, so would Frank Vatrano. Vatrano is entering the final season of his deal, and the Ducks are expected to be open to moving him. Given that he is coming off a career season in which he had 37 goals and 60 points in 82 games, the Ducks have the potential to land a sweet return for him this summer.

If the Sabres added Vatrano, he would provide an upgrade at left wing on either of their two lines. This is because he is not only a talented scorer, but he also plays a heavy game, as his 156 hits last season effectively display. Thus, he is the kind of player a hopeful-playoff team like the Sabres should target.
