Sabres Have Big Target From Oilers

The Sabres should have this Oilers forward on their radar this summer.

The Buffalo Sabres will look to add to their forward group this offseason. They could use some help on the wing, and thankfully, this year's free agency should provide several options.

When looking at wingers who could potentially hit the free-agent market this summer, one player who should immediately grab the Sabres' attention is Edmonton Oilers forward Warren Foegele.

Foegele, 28, took a big step forward in 2023-24 for the Oilers and had the best season of his career. In 82 regular-season games, the 6-foot-2 winger set new career highs with 20 goals, 21 assists, and 41 points. He also threw the body a lot during the regular season, recording 89 hits.

Foegele is currently trying to help the Oilers win the Stanley Cup in their series against the Florida Panthers. However, once the Stanley Cup Final is over, he will certainly get a nice raise this offseason. If the Oilers decide to let him walk, the Sabres should immediately have him on their wishlist.

Foegele would give the Sabres' middle six a nice boost, as he produces solid secondary scoring and is physical. In addition, he would work on their power play because of his net-front presence ability.

Foegele will surely receive a lot of attention around the league if he hits the market. Don't be surprised if the Sabres are one of the teams that watch him.
