Sabres Have Interesting Target In Utah HC Sniper

The Sabres should consider keeping an eye on this Utah Hockey Club forward.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman recently reported that the Buffalo Sabres are looking to add to their roster. When looking at their current group, it is fair to argue that they could use another skilled forward.

It is early in the season, so the trade market is understandably quiet. However, Utah Hockey Club forward Michael Carcone has been generating buzz in the rumor mill. While he may not be the biggest name out there, he could be an interesting player for the Sabres to take a shot on.

Carcone has become the odd man out in Utah, playing in just three games this season. However, his stats from last season suggest that he can provide strong secondary scoring. In 74 games last season with the Arizona Coyotes, he had 21 goals and 29 points.

With numbers like these, Carcone could have the potential to be an excellent addition to the Sabres' forward depth. It is no secret that Buffalo could use more scoring and skill.

Carcone carries an easily affordable $775,000 cap hit until the end of this season. Thus, he could be a nice low-risk, high-reward player for the Sabres to take a gamble on. This is especially so when noting that the Sabres would not need to give up much to get him.
