Sabres Have Prime Trade Target from Sharks

The Sabres could boost their top six by acquiring this Sharks forward.

Mikael Granlund

The Buffalo Sabres have made multiple moves this offseason, but they should not be done yet. They have yet to add another top-six forward to their roster, and GM Kevyn Adams should work hard to change that. This is especially so with the club looking to break their 13-year playoff drought next campaign.

Unfortunately, the Sabres struck out any big-name wingers on the free-agent market. Yet, luckily for them, they still have options through the trade market that they can target. San Jose Sharks forward Mikael Granlund is one player who should grab their attention.

After a shaky finish to the 2022-23 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Granlund was dealt to the Sharks as a part of the Erik Karlsson blockbuster trade last offseason. In San Jose, Granlund bounced back in a big way, posting 12 goals and 60 points in 68 games. With numbers like these, Granlund showed that he can still thrive in a top-six role. This should intrigue the Sabres.
