Saints cornerback posts positive update.

The New Orleans Saints have plenty of decisions to make in the offseason.

While the team doesn't have a ton of free agents like they have had in previous offseasons, they do have some big names who could be on the move. One of those players is cornerback Paulson Adebo.

Adebo, who was drafted by the Saints in 2021 in the 3rd Round (76th overall), suffered a broken femur against the Broncos in the Sean Payton Domecoming game on Thursday Night Football in Week 7. He was one of two New Orleans defenders the team would not have for the bulk of the year.

Adebo posted a very positive update recently, showing him running on a treadmill at 21 mph.

Adebo, who was in a contract year, finished 2024 with 52 total tackles, 10 pass defenses and 3 picks. He was the team's starter opposite of Marshon Lattimore, who also struggled to stay on the field before getting traded to the Washington Commanders.

At the end of the year, I got a chance to catch up with Adebo in the locker room. He was jovial and said that he would love to return the New Orleans like many of the free agents, but was going to see where things fall. He said that he was ready to attack the offseason and will be ready by training camp, and this video only further drives that home.

The biggest question for the Saints and Adebo is what to pay him. New Orleans could have a figure in mind, but it might not be what some project for a starting cornerback. They are interested in bringing him back. He's definitely regarded well around the league, and could command north of $10 million annually. There's also a good bit of cornerbacks available that might be ahead of him.

If Adebo doesn't return, New Orleans could look to the draft to get more help, but would have Alontae Taylor and Kool-Aid McKinstry on the outside as their starting tandem.
