Saints can find perfect puzzle piece on offense during 2025 NFL Draft, but they won't have to pick him in the first round

Plenty of directions to go for the New Orleans Saints in the 2025 NFL Draft. Looking further than their first pick, they may have some interest in a small-school offensive line prospect who could make an impact for them quickly.

Saints showing interest in OL Charles Grant

According to Nick Underhill, the Saints attended William & Mary this week to check out offensive lineman Charles Grant.

With the size and movement ability of a tackle, we could see the former William & Mary stud play a role early and often in Grant's career, along an offensive line. New Orleans will most likely add at least one OL piece to the puzzle during the draft, and Grant would be a great. choice for that.

Charles Grant is one of the most intriguing offensive linemen in this class. In a draft class lacking a lot of intrigue at the top, his athletic tools and competitive toughness make him a standout prospect to consider. He might end up being the top tester in the class when the Combine ends.

Zone offenses will love him, particularly outside zone-heavy teams, with his movement skills and length. I won't call him scheme-transcendent until I see his play strength win against better competition, but he has the tools to develop into a starting-caliber tackle for an outside zone team. -- AJ Schulte

Grant makes a ton of sense for the Saints to me. They would probably have to take him with one of their round three picks, but it certainly won't cost them their first-round pick.

His versatility is a calling card would bring a ton of value to Kellen Moore's offense. As of now, the offensive line is incredibility thin for the Saints. They have their projected tackles in Taliese Fuaga and Trevor Penning, but the backup roles are not set in stone whatsoever.

Inside, Cesar Ruiz and Erik McCoy are both locked in as starters. Grant could backup either of those players, whether it be at guard or center as well. Not to mention, the left guard position has been a topic of discussion consistently this offseason for the Saints.

They recently added Dillon Radunz to compete for that role, but grabbing a rookie sometime on day two would make a ton of sense for that competition.

Grant fits that billing and would challenge for a starting spot immediately in New Orleans. We will see if the Saints follow up their recent interest in the lineman by selecting him at some point in this year's draft.
