Saints coach reveals star player is dealing with an injury

Injuries during the offseason can always be scary. You never want to lose players, especially key ones, before real games even begin. For the New Orleans Saints, they received some tough news on Wednesday.

One of their best offensive players recently suffered an injury as the team prepares for mandatory minicamp.

Saints WR Chris Olave dealing with shoulder injury

Head coach Dennis Allen revealed that tidbit in his press conference Wednesday afternoon after practice. Olave was in a red non-contact jersey on the field, and that raised some eyebrows.

He described it as a "tweak" for Olave that happened in the weight room. It occurred a few weeks ago, according to Allen.

The injury did not sound like a major one. I'd be surprised if he missed notable time due to the tweak.

Rather, the Saints will probably just keep him upright over the next chunk of the offseason to ensure he gets back to full health. The Saints begin training camp next week. We will see how much Olave is involved.

Olave has missed just two regular season games so far in his NFL career.
