Saints’ Drew Brees set for New Orleans Hall of Fame induction in 2024 season

Drew Brees is headed for the New Orleans Saints Hall-of-Fame.

The New Orleans Saints won a championship in 2010 with Sean Payton and Drew Brees leading the way. The Saints' high-flying offense became one of the most exciting and prolific in recent NFL history. Now, Brees is being recognized by owner Gayle Benson's franchise, according to the latest news provided by NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.

Drew Brees voted for second FedEx Air Player of the Week award of 2018

The news came amid an update on rookie QB Spencer Rattler from Saints Coach Dennis Allen's camp. The Saints' scariest pitfall to overcome on their 2024 schedule was also revealed.

The Brees enshrinement is expected to come soon for the 13-time Pro Bowler, an honor that many feel is long overdue.

Brees HOF plans finally revealed

Rapoport shared a graphic with Brees' outstanding contributions to the Saints franchise on Thursday as the team continued to battle it out in OTAs.

The news was shared via the Saints' official Twitter account.

The 2010 Saints roster was loaded with playmakers including Darren Sharper, Will Smith, Jeremy Shockey, Jonathan Vilma, Reggie Bush Malcolm Jenkins and more. Kickers Garrett Hartley and John Carney provided steady, dependable legs on special teams while Marques Colston, Lance Moore, Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem provided steady play at the wide receiver position.

Brees passed for over 4,388 yards yards and 34 touchdowns that season. It wasn't his absolute best statistical season by a longshot but it was enough to get the job done.

Saints‘ 2024 outlook

Derek Carr on Alvin Kamara's route running: “That's not normal” - Yahoo Sports

The Saints will be led by QB Derek Carr and holdover running back Alvin Kamara, who had a little under 700 yards last season on just under four yards per carry.

Kamara and Carr have both had outstanding seasons in years past but have lost their luster playing for Allen and Benson's team over the last few years. The Saints finished 9-8 last season on par with the division winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Whether or not the Saints are an honest contender for the division crown next season remains to be seen. One thing is for certain: the Saints are a team to watch and a lot of their shine and reputation in the NFL stems from the magical runs sparked by Brees, Coach Sean Payton, and the rest of the ‘Who Dey?' Saints of the early 2010s. Brees will be immortalized by a franchise that has won just one Super Bowl in its history, and owes a huge debt to the man who helped make it all happen, with plenty of help, of course.
