On Tuesday morning, another wide receiver move fell in place for the NFL. This time, the Buffalo Bills signed veteran wideout Marquez Valdez-Scantling. The New Orleans Saints showed interest in MVS during this offseason.

Did the Saints miss out on the WR?

MVS chose to join Josh Allen and the Bills offense. You cannot blame him for that.

Additionally, you have to wonder how aggressive the pursuit of MVS was from New Orleans.

They liked what they saw from A.T. Perry last year. Not to mention, Bub Means was a prospect they had their eye on from early in the draft process. The Saints took him on day three and expect him to be another big-body option for the team's passing offense. He impressed them at rookie minicamp last weekend as well.

No one will ever know how big of a swing they took on signing him, but the money can be better used elsewhere for New Orleans anyway. The team still needs to address safety depth and potentially interior defensive line depth. Both those spots on defense could use a veteran asset.

Regardless, MVS heads to the AFC. The Saints added multiple veteran wide receivers during free agency before the draft.

All of them will by vying for roster spots. If I had to predict it now, Cedrick Wilson Jr. is the safest bet to make the team to start the year of those guys. Stanley Morgan Jr. and Equanimeous St. Brown will both have to battle hard during camp to earn their spot, too.

The Saints will probably expect a bit more from Perry and Means than some fans will expect this season. Let's see if the young guys make them look smart.
