Under Klint Kubiak, expect plenty of differences in 2024 for the New Orleans Saints offense. Derek Carr sounds confident and ready to have a bounce-back season, but he cannot do it alone.
That being said, the offense starts with the QB. Carr has to find comfort while bring pushed to his limits in the new scheme with new coaches. It's his third offensive playbook in three years.
Carr and the quarterbacks are going through change, just like the rest of the unit. It sounds like the 2024 offense will be a breath of fresh air for fans of the team.
The Saints have a new mindset on offense
"Listen to your feet."
Saints insider Nick Underhill took a deep dive into what the new staff's motto truly means. Check it out here.
Timing was a key aspect that was off between Carr and his receivers in 2023. You can't count how many times they "almost" connected for a deep shot or key first down. With this thought process at the forefront, Kubiak and co. are hoping that changes for 2024.
I detailed earlier in the offseason Carr's excitement for playing under his new offensive coordinator. He's motivated and is happy that Kubiak is asking for perfection in practice reps.
"For me, this level of detail is exciting because when you're held to that standard, usually, as a professional, you play to that standard. I'm excited about these coaches because they hold us to it every single day." -- Carr on Saints' new staff
Regardless, talk and catchphrases are great. As of now, that's what they are, though. The Saints need to prove that their play on the field is up to par with how much positivity is around the new offense.
