Saints receive a last minute Christmas gift that will make fans smile immediately

The New Orleans Saints headed into the holidays on quite a sour note. They were shut out on Monday night against the Green Bay Packers. That being said, Wednesday brought some positive light for the rest of their season.

One of their best young players could return to the field sooner than later.

Chris Olave returns

The Saints' top wide receiver has missed over a month of action due to a second concussion this season. He was designated to return from injured reserve last week but was ruled out over the weekend.

On Wednesday's estimated injury report for the Saints, Olave was labeled as a full participant in practice.

Accordingly, the young wideout may play again this season, potentially even this coming weekend.

Of course, New Orleans should and will heir on the side of caution with Olave. He's suffered multiple concussions over the past two years of NFL action and had one in college, too.

For the Saints, they are eliminated from playoff contention already. There is zero reason to rush him back, but if he is back at full strength, getting him some live reps would be useful for him and his development.

We will see if Olave returns this weekend or during the final week of the regular season. Regardless, it is great to see him returning to practice action for New Orleans after a scary injury situation.
