In the Friday, April 11 episode of Days of Our Lives, Sami attempted to explain to her son why she fell in love with EJ DiMera after he raped her. Vivian attempted to claim her stake in Titan now that she had legally exited prison. Sarah attempted to tell Xander the truth.

Sami and Johnny

Johnny (Carson Boatman) didn’t need to be mad at his mom for evading his calls. Sami (Alison Sweeney) made up for it big time. This was definitely a conversation that needed to happen in person, and it happened at EJ’s bedside.

While he was comatose, Sami admitted that she was in therapy. Yes, Sami Brady’s doing the work, and she shared some of the results of that work with Johnny, including her self-esteem issues and her feelings of abandonment. Her journey into addressing her mental health happened after she found out Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) was the one to kidnap her.

She proceeded to tell her son a lot of the more troubling aspects of her life. Stefano taking her parents away. Catching John (the late Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) having an affair. Alan Harris (ex-Paul Kersey) raped her and even admitted she was the abuser in her toxic relationship with Austin (then-Patrick Muldoon). Of course, there was also Arnold Feniger (Galen Gering).

After what EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) did to her, she felt that part of it was karma and the fact that she didn’t think much of herself. She didn’t think she deserved better or to be loved. She was broken.

It was a cathartic conversation that she could only have after therapy, and it was wonderful to witness. Johnny needed to hear all of it.

Sarah and Vivian

Meanwhile, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) came close to telling Xander (Paul Telfer) the truth but let his assumptions take over again. Simultaneously, Vivian (Louise Sorel) was at the Kiriakis mansion confronting Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier). She wanted what was hers, and that was half of Titan.

However, Xander was in the way, and Vivian suggested that they kill Xander so she could truly have half of what she had been promised. Later, when Xander entered the picture, Vivian told them that she was moving in. Once again, the secret remained a secret. But Vivian’s presence means she can blow up Philip’s world any second.
