Every year, the Chicago Cubs announced their Hall of Fame class, highlighting some of the best players in franchise history.
In 2025, Tom Ricketts took to the Cubs Convention stage to announce the 2025 Hall of Fame class. Former 1B Derrek Lee and OF Sammy Sosa, who was recently welcomed back by the franchise, are this year’s inductees.
Lee spent the better part of seven seasons in Chicago, with his unforgettable 2005 season capturing the minds of most fans. Lee finished third in MVP voting and was in contention for the Triple Crown. Rightfully, Lee joins lineup mate Aramis Ramirez in the Cubs Hall of Fame.
How can you talk about Cubs baseball and not mention Sammy Sosa? The home run race of 1998 has been credited for saving the sport, and Sosa was front and center with Mark McGwire. Sosa will rightfully take his place within Cubs history alongside Lee.
