The San Francisco 49ers today announced they have signed DL Alfred Collins to a four-year deal. With the signing, the 49ers now have all 11 of the team's 2025 draft picks under contract.
Collins (6-5, 332) was selected by the 49ers in the second round (43rd overall) in this year's NFL Draft out of the University of Texas.
He appeared in 64 games (28 starts) over five seasons at Texas (2020-24) and registered 142 tackles, 18.0 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, one interception, 13 passes defensed, and two forced fumbles.
In 2024, he started in 16 games and registered 55 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, seven passes defensed and one forced fumble, earning Associated Press Second-Team All-American honors.
In 2023, he appeared in 14 games (six starts) and notched 22 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and two passes defensed, earning Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors.
In 2022, he appeared in 12 games (one start) and registered 17 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack. In 2021, Collins appeared in 12 games (four starts) and notched 25 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and one forced fumble.
As a freshman in 2020, he appeared in 10 games (one start) during the shortened COVID-19 season and registered 23 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, four passes defensed and one interception.
