There has been much talk about the Vanderpump Rules cast in recent weeks. This is especially the case for Scheana Shay, 39, following the news of the reboot. Now, Scheana is causing more pop culture controversy after admitting that she once had a sleepover with Ryan Phillippe, 50. Additionally, her sister is coming to her defense after fans claimed that Scheana wants to be on the VPR reboot.
As everyone knows, the news broke recently that everyone from the VPR cast had been fired in favor of new blood. Since then, the cast has reacted in different ways, and the show’s fans also seem to be divided. Some feel it is time for something new since VPR has strayed from its original concept, but others feel robbed of the OG cast.
According to Page Six, Scheana sat down for an episode of her Scheananigans podcast. As usual, she had much to say. One of the biggest takeaways is that she once slept over with Ryan Phillippe. According to her, “He was single during the times that we were all hanging out.”
Scheana explained, “There was a sleepover, but we did not hook up. No, we were just friends.”
For context, she said that she was 22 or 23 when this happened. Ryan later married Reese Witherspoon in 1999, and they divorced in 2008.
According to US Weekly, Scheana’s sister is now coming to her defense. This came after Scheana discussed the new cast for VPR, and fans felt that she was hoping for a spot on the show due to saying she’s friends with some of the newbies.
She said on the podcast, “So I don’t think they’ve announced who the cast is yet. I just know from still going to SUR and I am still friends with Peter [Madrigal], I talk to him often. One of the girlfriends who is one of my friends from the past, like, eight years, she is a SUR girlie.”
She added, “I think I met her in 2016 or 2017, so she’s been there for a while. I do know that she filmed some stuff. So if I get to watch her journey, she is someone I tried to bring on the show the last several seasons that I was working at SUR.”
Scheana then said that she even suggested cast members. According to her, “I was like, ‘She actually works here! We are actually friends!’ I want to watch [season 12] for that. I just hope that when they announce the cast that she is for sure one of those people, and she deserves it.”
Fans had a field day with these comments. They questioned why she brought up knowing the new cast as well as why she’d mention them when there hadn’t been an announcement. One person said, “I’m sure she’s BEST FRIENDS with everyone on the show. Lmao.”
This prompted a reply from her sister, saying, “Why is it shocking she’s friends with people she used to work with.”
Fans can listen to Scheana’s podcast on all platforms.
