The Valley’s Scheana Shay Shades Kristen Doute’s Defense of Zack Wickham after His Comments about Janet, Hints at What Wasn’t “Caught on Camera” and Reveals Convo She Had with His Best Friend Brittany

Scheana Shay shaded Kristen Doute’s defense of Zack Wickham after his comments about Janet Caperna. The star hinted at what wasn’t “caught on camera,” and she revealed a convo she had with his best friend, Brittany Cartwright.

In season one of The Valley, when Janet was pregnant, she and Zack feuded continually. In the finale, he yelled at her to get out of the bar, and her husband Jason Caperna got in his face. Since the season aired, Janet has suggested that Zack commented that he hoped her baby didn’t come to full term. But in a recent interview, Kristen, who’s also feuding with Janet, defended Zack, her good friend.

In the April 18 episode of her Scheananigans podcast, Scheana addressed Kristen’s interview.

“I love Kristen, but I am allowed to disagree with my friends,” said Scheana, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram. “I don’t like what she said on the After Show about, it was kind of her defending Zack, saying, ‘Well, you know, that’s, like, his mortal enemy. So what are you gonna say about your mortal enemy? And, you know, he has a colorful way of speaking when he’s drunk.'”

But according to Scheana, the “colors are black.”

“They’re dark. That’s his colorful way of speaking when he’s drunk,” she said. “I’m sure we will see more of this this season. I just know what I was there for in the conversations that I witnessed.”

“We’ve discussed this on the podcast before with Janet. She’s talked about her mental health struggles. She had also shared that she had an attempt once to end her life. And that put her on a 72-hour hold,” Scheana continued. “And for other people to use that against her … He had made comments that were not caught on camera.”

Scheana reiterated that not everything was captured at the finale. “Because of what he said [off camera], it caused his best friend Brittany to distance herself from him for many, many months,” she said. “Like over his birthday, over the holidays.”

“[But] at Brittany’s birthday last year … she pulled me aside and she was like, ‘You know, Janet’s not coming tonight. She has a new baby, and Zack really wants to come, really wants to celebrate me. Like, what do I do?'” Scheana recalled. “And she was comparing, like, my friendship with Tom Sandoval to her friendship with Zack. Being like, ‘Okay, well you know, Tom really screwed up. But then you gave him some grace. And Zack really screwed up. But I want to give him some grace.'”

Scheana claimed she then understood Brittany’s perspective.

“And then that night Zack tried to talk to me and apologize,” she went on. “[I told him,] ‘It’s not the time or place’ … And then he said something similar about someone else that we care about.”
