Mia Thornton is a business woman, mom of three, and never misses the chance to have a good time. But before she joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Potomac in Season 6, Mia lived a very interesting life. While those moments were caught on camera for Bravo audiences, these old photos and video clips show just some of that time in her life.

Mia Thornton Celebrates Living 'Out Loud' and 'Authentically'

When Mia married her husband, entrepreneur Gordon Thornton, in 2012, she had her own successful career from her job building the Joint Chiropractic offices across the Northeast region, according to her Bravo bio. Mia gave some insight into her relationship with Gordon, who is 32 years older than her, during RHOP Season 6, Episode 2. "For so many years, Gordon was out running around building an empire," she explained in a confessional. "Now Gordon is home with the kids — exactly where he wants to be — and I've taken more of a leadership role and being the boss CEO in charge."

Mia was even attending events all on her own before she joined the cast of RHOP in 2021. This photo, taken in 2019, is proof of that.

Mia has also been open about her childhood growing up in Georgia and how that made her into the woman and mother that she is today. "Both of my parents were recovering addicts so they weren't able to care for me, so I got juggled and pushed everywhere," she explained to E! News in 2021. "It was a very challenging upbringing but I'm so grateful for it now because I did have people in my life that were able to step in and show me a better way of life, and also afford an opportunity to have some really extensive therapy to help reprogram my brain because I really feel like without the help of professionals...it's easy to become a victim and it's easy to make excuses. But I was taught at a very young age that you are not a victim of your past or what other people have done for you, that you actually have full control of your future."

Mia took to Instagram on Mother's Day 2024 where she gave a brief look into her family and her three children — sons Joshua and Jeremiah, and daughter, Juliana — that have shaped her into the mother that she is today.

"Kiss of life. Truly B L E S S E D," she wrote in the caption of the post. "Mi Amor."

Mia Thornton's appearance on Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids before Bravo

Long before she was on RHOP, Mia appeared on Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids in Season 3, which aired in October 2012, according to IMDb. During the episode, Mia (who was then Mia Fields) took her bridesmaids in for a fitting for their dresses and openly talked about her relationship with Gordon. "He's a great man," she said.

Mia's wedding was even briefly shown on the episode, with cameras capturing her walking down the aisle, saying "I do" and dancing the night away with her bridesmaids. "I do feel like I'm in a fairytale," she admitted at the end of the episode.
