Seiya Suzuki Scratched from Cubs Lineup, Listed as Day-to-Day

The Chicago Cubs will be without an important member of their lineup on Wednesday night. Following an epic comeback victory on Tuesday, the Cubs are looking to take the two-game set against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Wrigley Field. However, as they go for the series victory, they'll be without slugger and designated hitter Seiya Suzuki.

Seiya Suzuki Scratched from Cubs Lineup, Listed as Day-to-Day

According to reports, Suzuki was scratched from the lineup on Wednesday due to right wrist discomfort. As a result, he is considered day-to-day moving forward.

Suzuki has already missed games this season due to a wrist injury, certainly igniting concern with this latest setback. Ideally, this is completely precautionary and Suzuki can return to the lineup by Friday when the Cubs welcome the Philadelphia Phillies to Wrigley Field.

Suzuki is off to a phenomenal start this season. Slashing .276/.354/.540 with six home runs and 20 RBIs, the Japanese slugger has found a home as the everyday DH hitting in front of or behind Kyle Tucker. Now, losing a player who's just below a .900 OPS is a tough break for the Cubs as they wrap up with the Dodgers.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and will feature Matthew Boyd for the Cubs and Ben Casparius for the Dodgers to close out the two-game series.
