The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member shares Shya and Shiloh with husband Gerald Mwangi, and she recently opened up about her loved ones in an exclusive chat with The Daily Dish, as well as on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

"I think my biggest success and accomplishment is having a beautiful family," she told us. "I've got two beautiful daughters; Shya's six years old and Shiloh's two years old. My husband who I've been with for 10 years, Gerald — my Kenyan King — he's been such a blessing in my life."

Suffice to say, the family is thriving — which is especially good to hear after what Shamea has shared about Shiloh's health journey.

Shamea and Gerald welcomed their youngest daughter Shiloh in February 2023 with help from a surrogate, Shadina Blunt (who previously carried Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker's youngest child, Blaze Tucker). However, Shadina was unfortunately diagnosed with breast cancer during the pregnancy and had to give birth to Shiloh prematurely.

After Shiloh was born, she struggled to breathe on her own and was eventually diagnosed with choanal atresia. She spent about six months in the hospital before she was discharged.

Upon her daughter's release from the hospital in August 2023, Shamea took to Instagram to celebrate. “Guess who’s home?!? [Shiloh]. She was just discharged and she’s settling in quite nicely,” Shamea wrote. “I’ve gotta give God the praise. He shows up every single time and so do y’all! Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU for always keeping my family lifted in prayer. I appreciate y’all so much. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.”

Shamea has continued to document Shiloh's health journey on social media. Most recently, the peach-holder shared a positive update on Shiloh's second birthday in February 2025, noting that she's making "incredible progress" in therapy.
