After her co-star, Heather Dubrow, 55, said there was “a lot of drama” heading back to the screens, Shannon, 60, admitted that season 18 was “difficult” as she avoided questions about the alleged concerns her friends have regarding her drinking habits.
In a video shared by Star Influx LA on YouTube, Shannon said, “I will use one word to describe next season … difficult for me.”
Then, after confirming that things were still “all good,” Shannon was asked if there would be “some fights” between her and her castmates when the show returned for its new episodes.
“You’ll have to tune in. I’m a rule follower. I don’t like to give anything too much,” she explained.
Shannon, who was arrested for DUI after hitting a Newport Beach, California, home in September of last year, was also asked about her friends potentially being worried about her drinking, but she refused to react to the photographer’s inquiry.
Earlier this year, after Shannon evaded jail time for her crime, an insider told Radar Online that Shannon’s pals were worried that she was still drinking — and that she was potentially doing so to help deal with the pressure of appearing on RHOC.
“Even after her recent DUI and outpatient rehab she is still drinking,” an insider told the Daily Mail. “She isn’t getting wasted and getting behind the wheel, but she still does enjoy a drink.”
“Although Shannon thinks this is okay, it is of concern to those who love her and have supported her through her process of overcoming the pain caused by the DUI,” the source continued. “It is ultimately Shannon’s life – but lying to herself and trying to convince herself that her drinking is not a problem after getting a DUI from an accident that could have been way worse is not on.”
According to the insider, Shannon doesn’t know how to deal with the pressure of being a reality star.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime in the coming months.
