Shannon Beador Pulled Over by Police While on DUI Probation

Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador was pulled over by police while still on probation for driving under the influence, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

According to court records obtained by Us, the Bravo star had an encounter with police on May 21 while in Orange County, California. The officer cited Beador for driving “while operating a handheld wireless telephone or electronic wireless communication device,” a.k.a. using a phone while driving.

She was cited and released. Beador has until July 11 to pay the fine, which is only $20 for a first-time offender and $50 for an additional offense. The ticket is not a moving violation and does not add any points to your record on the first offense.

As Us previously reported, Beador is currently on criminal probation stemming from her September 2023 arrest for an alleged DUI and hit-and-run. Her probation is set to end in November 2026.

Beador drove her car into a residential building in Newport Beach, California, according to prosecutors. She allegedly left the scene. Officers arrived at the location to find Beador walking her dog. They questioned her and determined that she was under the influence. Beador was booked on two misdemeanor charges.

TMZ reported the RHOC star’s BAC (blood alcohol content) was .24. The legal limit in California is 0.08.

After her arrest, Beador’s lawyer Michael Fell said she was “apologetic and remorseful” and offered to pay for damages to the building. She quickly enrolled in an outpatient wellness program “with an alcohol component,” sources told TMZ.

In November 2023, Beador was sentenced to three years of probation, ordered to pay fines and complete a 9-month alcohol program.

She entered a plea of no contest to two charges related to the DUI. The court dismissed a charge related to the property damage Beador caused with her car. The prosecutors sought to have Beador locked up for 30 days.

The Orange County District Attorney, Todd Spitzer, slammed the judge’s decision after the sentencing.

Spitzer told TMZ, “Driving under the influence must have consequences. When a judge gives someone who not only drove with a blood alcohol level of .24 – three times the legal limit – but then ran away from the scene of a DUI collision a slap on the wrist, you are sending a message that DUIs are not serious crimes that demand accountability.”

He added, “This is not justice. We as a society need to wake up and address the very real – and often deadly – consequences of driving under the influence.”

“I take responsibility for the very stupid choice that I made that night,” she said.

Beador told viewers during the season 18 premiere, “I’ve never broken a bone, I’ve never had a concussion, I’ve never been in an accident, I’ve never been arrested, I’ve never had a DUI — and I did all that in 10 seconds.”

During a conversation with her three daughters about the arrest, Beador told them, “I’m so sorry and humiliated that I disappointed you.”

“I acknowledge that I was drinking a lot — a lot — back then, but today I’m not,” Beador said. ”I was using alcohol as a coping mechanism. And I know I can’t do that anymore.”

“If I get to the point where I think alcohol is negatively affecting my life, then I will address that,” she said.

As Us first reported, Shannon’s ex-husband, David Beador, recently filed for divorce.
