Shep Rose Opens Up About Dating Life, Social Media DMs, and Finding Love

Shep Rose, a longtime fan favorite on “Southern Charm,” is offering a rare glimpse into his dating life. Months after his breakup with Sienna Evans, Shep admitted that hasn’t given up on love and confirmed to People magazine that he’s back in the dating pool.

“It’s fun, and it’s also exhausting,” Shep said about dating, “because most of them aren’t all that great, but you’re looking for that diamond in the rough.”

Shep’s status as a Bravolebrity comes with unique challenges, especially when it comes to trust and public perception. “You’ll meet someone, and they’re like, ‘I know you’re on TV, but I don’t watch your show.’ But then they’re like, ‘In season 3…’” Shep explained with a laugh.

The reality star also revealed that he often scrolls through his hidden direct messages on social media — even if the messages are, as he put it, “mostly insane.” He added, “If you’re in a dentist’s office, you’re like, ‘I’m just going to get into this hidden section here.’ It can be quite entertaining.”

Navigating Love in the Spotlight

Shep has long been open about the struggles of forming relationships while under the glare of the Bravo cameras. Before dating Sienna, he was in a two-year relationship with “Southern Charm” castmate Taylor Ann Green, a romance marked by highs, lows, and some post-breakup drama. Reflecting on dating while in the public eye, Shep admitted, “Being in a relationship on Bravo, the hit rate isn’t exactly very high. Usually, they disintegrate under the bright white lights.”

Despite the challenges, Shep remains optimistic about what he’s looking for in a partner. When asked about his romantic “must-haves,” Shep told People, “I want to get a good feeling when they walk into a room. I love feeling lucky to be there. And they have to feel that same way to a certain degree…. I love having a good time. I’m up for whatever, I love saying yes.”

Even with the pressures of reality TV fame, Shep recognizes that his career can both attract and repel potential partners. “There’s a lot of good girls for whom reality TV is just a nonstarter, and I totally understand,” he said.

The Bravo Bachelor Life and Beyond

In the group discussion with fellow bachelors Jesse Solomon, Carl Radke, Fraser Olender, Tom Schwartz, and Tyson Beckford, Shep shared advice on handling fame, love, and criticism, saying, “Ignore the negative comments, because there’s a ginormous amount of people that really enjoy the show you’re on. You provide entertainment; they forget about their troubles.”

As Shep continues to navigate life in the spotlight, fans remain eager to see where his romantic journey will take him next. Still, whether he’s dodging chaotic DMs or seeking out his next big love, Shep Rose is proving he’s not done looking for his “diamond in the rough” just yet.
