Sheriff Country Trailer Reveals Morena Baccarin Leading The First Fire Country Spinoff

The first trailer for Sheriff Country finally came out, showing Morena Baccarin as Mickey Fox in the first Fire Country spinoff. In the trailer, Mickey can be seen dealing with different types of difficult situations and various criminals. Mickey’s father, Wes, reappears in the trailer, which also shows scenes that were already part of Mickey’s Fire Country season 3 appearance.

Sheriff Country’s trailer establishes one of the key Fire Country characters for the spinoff via Sharon’s presence towards the trailer’s end. The trailer also offers glimpses of Sheriff Country’s other important characters, like Mickey’s daughter Skye and Mickey’s ex-husband, Travis. It sets the scene for Sheriff Country’s premiere on October 17, airing extraordinarily after Fire Country for its first episode.

Sheriff Country’s trailer perfectly sets up Mickey’s challenges in the Fire Country spinoff. All the scenes Mickey was shown working in the trailer emphasized how unlike any other procedural Sheriff Country can be, due to Edgewater being a small town and Mickey knowing half of it. Sheriff Country’s trailer also hinted at cases that might challenge that belief in Mickey.

Fire Country season 3, episode 16 has already touched on Mickey’s unique difficulties as a sergeant and a daughter, as she wants to spend time with Wes, but she doesn’t know about his business.

The trailer for the Fire Country spinoff Sheriff Country also introduces the other key characters. With Wes Fox making an appearance speaking to Mickey, in addition to the scene from Fire Country season 3 with Bode that is also shown, Sheriff Country’s trailer clearly establishes Mickey’s unique difficulties balancing her job as sergeant with her personal life, given Wes’s job.

All in all, the trailer offers a perfect snapshot of what Sheriff Country can be as a procedural drama and how connected to Fire Country it can be. With some scenes having smoke in the background and others featuring key Fire Country characters, Sheriff Country’s trailer demonstrates how close a link there can be between Fire Country and its spinoff.

Our Take On Sheriff Country’s Trailer

Fire Country being set in the fictional town of Edgewater let the show focus simultaneously on firefighting in Northern California’s peculiar challenges and the reality of the inmate fire camps. Fire Country revolving around Edgewater and introducing Mickey as Sharon’s sister inevitably impacts Sheriff Country, which will have to showcase Mickey’s unique problems as a sergeant in a small town.

Sheriff Country can thus show a different side of the Edgewater we got to know in Fire Country, one darker due to the nature of Mickey’s job. At the same time, the Fire Country spinoff can also expand what we know of Bode’s family by focusing on the Fox family. This can help us understand both Mickey and Sharon better.

Sheriff Country’s trailer shows it can be a glorious expansion of the Fire Country universe. By showcasing all the key elements that make its story unlike any other, it raises the hype for Sheriff Country in and of itself and for what it can tell more of Fire Country’s characters, making it feel like its premiere cannot come quickly enough.
