SHOCKING TURN: Joe Milton ROASTS Patriots, Then BACKTRACKS — “Drake Maye’s My Boy!
Joe Milton III — now with the Dallas Cowboys — just lit up the NFL rumor mill with one jaw-dropping comment… and then quickly tried to walk it all back.
In a recent interview, Milton compared the Cowboys' team environment to his old squad in New England, saying:
“It’s just a different building, man. Dak Prescott is a real leader — he’ll stop mid-meeting to help you out. That doesn’t happen everywhere.”
The internet exploded. Fans and analysts immediately read it as a clear jab at Patriots rookie QB Drake Maye and the culture in Foxborough. But less than 24 hours later, Milton jumped on Instagram to clean up the mess:
“People are going to twist my words. Drake Maye is my guy. Stop reaching. There’s no beef, no drama — just facts,” he wrote.
Still, the damage was done. NFL Twitter speculated whether Milton intentionally shaded the Pats’ organization, especially considering his quiet exit earlier this year when he was traded to Dallas in exchange for a fifth-round pick.
Milton did shine in his lone appearance for New England — throwing for 257 yards and 2 TDs in Week 18 against the Bills — but reports say he was stuck behind Maye and Dobbs with “limited reps” in training camp.
Now in Dallas, Milton is competing with Will Grier for the QB2 job behind Prescott, and clearly, he feels the difference. But whether his viral comment was truth or trolling, one thing’s certain: Joe Milton isn’t afraid to speak his mind — and then backpedal just as fast.
