What happened on Days of our Lives

Roman gave Doug a job and a room to rent. Tate continued to be jealous of Doug. A mysterious stranger photographed Doug and Holly together. Tate convinced Sophia to defy her mother and put their baby up for adoption after Sophia turned 18.
Philip apologized to Stephanie. Philip explained that he had pursued the company to redeem himself for having disappointed Victor. Philip admitted that he regretted that he had hurt everyone, especially his brother.
Chanel yelled at EJ that his actions had made Johnny feel incapable of being a parent. After the confrontation, Marlena talked to an emotional EJ. Marlena asked EJ if he believed Johnny had shot him. EJ gave an emphatic no, and he explained that his concern was that Johnny’s anger at him would destroy Johnny’s life.
Chanel warned Cat not to have anything to do with EJ. When Chanel told Cat about the failed adoption, Cat encouraged Chanel to work with Johnny to reach an understanding. Chanel took Cat’s advice and reached out to Johnny to talk through their viewpoints.
When Chad asked EJ to let him buy out EJ’s auction bid for a date with Cat, EJ asked Chad if he had feelings for her. Chad said he could not date Cat. EJ encouraged Chad to follow his heart. After some flirting, Chad asked Cat if she would accept him as a replacement on the date. Cat accepted.
Dr. Jeffrey Russell lashed out at Kayla for her refusal to let him out of his contract. When Steve asked Kayla about Russell’s drug research, a suspicious Kayla asked Steve about his interest. Steve admitted that he planned to steal the drug for Bo. Kayla did not approve of the theft, but she did give Steve the opportunity to move ahead with it.
Jeffrey complained to EJ about Kayla. EJ informed Jeffrey that he planned to fund the hospital and his research. Kayla rejected EJ’s offer to buy the hospital. Kayla argued that Tom and Alice would object to the DiMera family owning it. After his confrontation with Kayla, EJ complained to Marlena that everyone was skeptical that he could change. Marlena advised EJ to give people time to come around. EJ continued to push Marlena to talk to Johnny for him.
Rafe warned Leo to back off of Gabi, but Leo claimed he was only doing his job as a reporter. Leo encouraged Javi to quit his job and pursue one he was passionate about instead of working with Gabi.
Rafe told Gabi that he knew she had taken his gun the night of EJ’s shooting. Gabi confessed that she had been at the mansion, but that she had left after she had heard EJ argue with another man. Gabi also told Rafe that she had seen Ava there, but Ava had run away when she had heard Gabi exiting the garden.
Leo accused Jada of being a suspect in EJ’s shooting. Jada admitted to Shawn that she had been mad enough to shoot EJ, which is why she had locked up her gun before she had gone to the bar that night. Shawn told Jada that he did not believe that she was capable of shooting EJ.
When Xander asked Johnny about taking a job at DiMera, Johnny said he liked the idea of hurting his father. Johnny promised to think about Xander’s offer.
Alex told Xander about a promising drug for sepsis for DiMera Pharmaceuticals. Xander talked to Sarah about the drug, and it inspired him to pursue Dr. Russell’s sepsis drug instead. Xander called Alex later and urged him to buy University Hospital.
As Xander and Sarah prepared to leave for a mini-honeymoon, Xander learned that EJ had attempted to buy the hospital. Xander called Alex and urged him to expedite the hospital purchase. Before Xander and Sarah could leave town, Sarah had an allergic reaction to a scone. While Xander panicked, Javi used his EMT training to diagnose the problem, and he injected Sarah with her EPIPen. Javi refused to tell Leo why he had abandoned his career as an EMT.
Alex and Stephanie had a romantic evening together. While Stephanie slept, Alex read her romance novel. Alex told Stephanie that he wanted his company to publish her book. Stephanie agreed to think about publishing it under a pseudonym.
Abe talked to Chanel about his and Lexie’s painful history of losing a child. Chanel noted that her situation was different because Johnny did not want a child at all. Chanel confided that she believed the issue would end her marriage. Chanel opened up to Abe about her fear that Johnny had shot EJ.
Chad reached out to Johnny on EJ’s behalf. Furious, Johnny asked Chad if he could forgive someone who caused him a lot of pain. Cat overheard. Johnny met up with EJ at the pub. EJ forgave Johnny for the shooting. Disgusted, Johnny told EJ that he hated him and would never forgive him. To rub salt in the wound, Johnny told EJ that Xander had offered him a job and he intended to accept it.
Johnny ran into a rattled Chanel after Sarah’s allergic reaction. Chanel explained that the incident had been her fault. After Chanel cried on Johnny’s shoulder, and he made her laugh, she told him she was ready to forgive him. Chanel told Johnny that he could return home if he told her honestly whether he had been the person who had shot EJ.
EJ asked Chad, as a hospital board member, to convince the other board members to accept his bid to buy the hospital. Chad promised to help, but he noted that EJ had to fight a competing bid from Xander.
