Britain's Got Talent viewers were left outraged on social media after child magician Teddy Magic was forced to pull out of the first live semi-final on Monday
Viewers of Britain's Got Talent are clamouring for clarity after Teddy Magic unexpectedly withdrew from the first live semi-final. The first live show kicked off on Saturday (April 26) with a dinosaur-themed band, Heavysaurus.
Eight-year-old magician Teddy Magic was next in line to take the stage following his introduction, but presenters Ant and Dec then announced that the young performer 'wasn't ready' to appear.
To fill the gap, they engaged in an impromptu discussion with the judges about the preceding act, during which Simon appeared visibly 'fuming' due to the deviation from the show's schedule. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter
Ant addressed the situation, saying: "Now Teddy isn't quite ready backstage yet, so we'll chat to you judges," while Dec indicated there would be a "little change of plan".
Simon's reaction was terse as he questioned, "Wait, so the act's not ready? ," prompting Ant to defend the young magician: "He's only eight years old, so back off!", reports Manchester Evening News.
Following their conversation with the judges, the duo proceeded to introduce the third act, Vinnie McKee, with Dec noting: "We're going to go to something else and come back to Teddy later on."
However, as the programme progressed, it was confirmed by the hosts that Teddy Magic would not be performing that evening and it was hoped he would return later in the series.
