The judge was confused as he heard his name being repeatedly shouted from the seats behind him.Despite security trying to stop the interaction, Simon allowed Max Fox to speak and he revealed he had been desperately trying to get an audition in front of Simon since he was 16 years old.Max shared: "19 years I've tried to get in front of you and I've never ever had that chance.
"Can you give me one opportunity to show you what I've got?"
As he got closer to Simon, security tried to step in but Simon held up his hand to stop them and said 'No it's okay.'
Addressing the eager audience member, he asked: "Is this serious? Is this a wind up?"
Max insisted: "No I'm a singer, I'm a local singer. I feel like it's my last time."
After Simon agreed he could perform, a member of the Britain's Got
"We have to check his identity," they added.
As he came back on to the stage at the end of the ITV show, Simon was still flabbergasted, saying: "I've just asked the producers to swear this is not a set up."
Max insisted: "I've been trying 19 years since I was 16 to get in front of you.
Talent production crew chimed in: "He can't just go on now...we'll get his track and sort him out.
"I've been in Manchester in the football stadiums where you hold the big auditions and I've never got to.
"Luckily I was 10ft away from you sat here. I don't know how I managed to get that seat and I just thought it was worth the chance to ask you."
Simon asked him to look him in the eye and swear it wasn't set up. Max responded: "I promise you, this is my dream."
He performed My Way by Frank Sinatra to a standing ovation from the audience. When he was finished showing his impressive voice, the audience cheered for him to get a gold buzzer.
Amanda Holden hit it, and revealed she might be in trouble for the move.
"Ive already pressed my gold buzzer so I'm in a lot of trouble. I've already pressed it before."
Asking again if it was a set up, Simon went on to the stage to see evidence.
He was then shown Max's audience ticket, and told him: "Well good for you. The audience just went nuts. You fooled me."
