Singer Morgan Wade took a moment during her concert at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on February 18 to ask her fans to pray for her friend, Teddi Mellencamp.
“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards was also at the concert and posted the video on her Instagram story.
“We’re really blessed to have a bunch of people here with me tonight,” Wade said. “If you don’t mind, tonight when you leave here, say a prayer for my good friend Teddi Mellencamp. I went to visit her a little bit ago.
“She was, I’m guessing it was about a week ago, went in and had to have emergency surgery on her brain to remove some tumors. So, she would be here tonight.”
As she was speaking, a fan yelled out from the crowd, encouraging Wade to lead a prayer with everyone in attendance.
Wade and Richards both went to visit Mellencamp in the hospital when she first revealed her brain tumor diagnosis.
Teddi Mellencamp Announces Her Brain Tumor Diagnosis On Instagram
On February 12, Mellencamp revealed in an Instagram post that she was diagnosed with several brain tumors.
“For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches. Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization,” Mellencamp wrote via her Instagram post. “After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months.”
Mellencamp had two of the tumors surgically removed on February 12, while the rest “will be dealt with via radiation at a later date.”
In the post, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum also took a moment to show her appreciation for her “children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health.”
“Thank you for everyone who has reached out, and everyone who has supported me in this journey,” Mellencamp added.

Kyle Richards spoke out about Mellencamp during her Amazon Livestream on February 18, 2025, asking for prayers.
“I really do believe in the power of prayer and please keep her in your prayers,” Richards said. “We’ve been with Teddi every day. Even sleeping there. We have been rotating. You know, she has a lot of people that love her and a great support system, thank God. Because that’s really important in times like this, the doctor said. We’re very grateful for all of the people over there taking care of her.”
“I’ll let Teddi speak to her situation when she’s able to,” Richards added
Richards and Mellencamp have been close friends since Mellencamp joined the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast in 2017.
