Mariah has found herself in quite the predicament on The Young and the Restless. She committed a huge crime that’s wreaking havoc on her life and that’s destroyed her marriage. While Mariah thinks she’s guilty of taking a life, a twist could prove her innocence.
Innocent Until Proven Guilty
Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) secret has been a huge storyline on Y&R for the past two months. Now, thanks to flashbacks, viewers finally have clues about what happened during her trip. Mariah was in a bar drinking when a mystery man (Michael Swan) approached her. The two started drinking and chatting, then they went back to a room where a panicked Mariah smothered the man to death
Many viewers suspected Mariah might have committed murder, now their suspicions have been confirmed. However, not everyone is convinced Mariah is guilty.
On Reddit, some fans speculated that Mariah might be innocent of the crime.
“I don’t think he’s dead, she just thought she killed him,” wrote one user.
One fan suggested someone might have framed Mariah. “I’m going to go with that she didn’t really kill him. Rather Ian snuck in and killed him. And then staged it to make her think that she did it.”
Another fan hinted it’s a rehash of another storyline. “This is no different from when Sharon thought she killed Cameron and left his body wrapped in a sheet by the dumpster, but Cameron was not dead.”
Could Mariah be innocent? If so, what happened to the mystery man, and will he show up alive? Or is someone, maybe Ian (Ray Wise), trying to frame her?
There are many questions that still need to be answered in this storyline. Fans will have to wait and see how Mariah’s drama unfolds and if she’s guilty of murder.
