It sounds like Salem and Genoa City will be doing the old swap-eroo. On the cusp of Days of Our Lives star, Billy Flynn, joining The Young and the Restless as the Cane Ashby recast, Conner Floyd, who’s on recurring status with the CBS soap playing Chance Chancellor, is slated to join DOOL as Chad DiMera, the very character Flynn exited. According to Deadline, Floyd will begin shooting on Days, entering the role of Chad DiMera, as of Monday, June 23. With that said, as the Peacock soap films months ahead of their broadcasting schedule, fans won’t see Floyd as DiMera until April 2026!
Floyd will be the third Chad DiMera since the character debuted in 2009. OG Chad was played by actor Casey Deidrick, who exited in 2013. In 2014, Flynn entered the role, and news broke in March 2025 that he was leaving the show after 11 years.
Flynn debuted as Cane Ashby, parading around as Aristotle Dumas, on the CBS soap during the week of June 16-20.
Conner Floyd’s Run As Chance Chancellor
Floyd’s no stranger to stepping into the shoes of an established character. He entered the land of GC in November 2021, as Chance, taking over from Danny Boaz, and won fans over as the nicest guy in Genoa City, second only to maybe Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
In May 2024, Floyd dropped down to recurring status but is still seen quite regularly thanks to his romance with Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) and crime cases that he was solving as a cop on the GCPD, but after Summer broke up with him and left town, his onscreen time has fizzled.
Fans will see him during the week of June 23-27, as he’s been invited to Dumas’s party in France; however, it looks like, thanks to Floyd’s gig on Days, Chance may not be seen moving forward.
