General Hospital's Kate Mansi has a hilarious new project in the works that's based on an embarrassing experience she had.

Kate Mansi’s portrayal of Kristina on General Hospital has been spectacular. She exudes strength, yet vulnerability, giving her character a compelling emotional complexity. Kristina has emerged triumphant through grief and family tensions and has come out stronger after losing the baby she was carrying for Molly and TJ. Mansi has a mental health show online called Sunday Support Series, and recently created a crowdfunding campaign for a project that will help share her innermost feelings and experiences with her fans.

Indie Filmmaking Got Really Messy

On Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) Stone Cold and the Jackal Instagram page, it read, “OH SH!T—Kate Mansi Is Crowdsourcing Funds For New, Autobiographical Short Flick 💩.” Along with that was a photo of Mansi and the copy from her new GoFundMe campaign. It’s to raise funds for a short film that she wrote with filmmaker Courtney Pape.

The project is described thusly: “Oh Sh!t is based on a true story – mine. On April 1, 2025, the eve of our final day of shooting an indie film, I was hit with brutal food poisoning. We’d already battled blizzards, delays, and I refused to be the reason we didn’t finish. So, armed with Pedialyte, Pepto, and pure determination, I pushed through. The only scene left? A sex scene.”

Stomach Bug, Steely Nerves

She further wrote that the crew also suffered from food poisoning, but were determined to finish what they had started. “We were getting the shot, no matter what,” she wrote, continuing with, “A true comedy of errors ensued: a makeup trailer full of chaos, an intimacy coordinator and co-star lovingly over-prepping while all I could think was, ‘Please don’t let me s**t on Shariff!’”

Citing the “resilience” and “absurdity” of the shoot, she decided to turn that experience into a short comedy, along with the help of actor and producer JJ Nolan and Pape. “I’m beyond grateful to have Courtney co-write and direct with her signature comedic tone, and to bring this to life alongside a truly incredible cast!” she wrote.
